Why is The Simpsons Popular? by Sophie N.

With 32 seasons, The Simpsons has been around since 1989 and ended in May of 2020. There are many characters, but the main characters are Lisa, Maggie, Bart, Homer, and Marge. Whether you're an avid fan or unfamiliar with the TV show, here's what you need to know about why these characters are so popular.

Why is Lisa Simpson popular?

One reason why Lisa is popular is because she's a feminist. Lisa fights for gender equality and tries to improve society's treatment of women.

A second reason is that she cares about the environment. She is always raising awareness of environmental issues in Springfield. Lisa is always trying her best to help the environment, such as becoming a vegetarian or trying to save a tree from being cut down.

Why is Maggie Simpson popular?

There are plenty of times when Maggie Simpson acted like a rebel. For example, the time she shot Mr. Montgomery Burns. Although this seems bad, at the end of Season 6, Mr. Burns went too far by trying to block the sun. Another time is when Maggie knocked out Russ Cargill (from The Simpsons movie), which saved her father's life. Some other times are when she

saved her father from drowning and took down

Fat Tony's gang with a rifle single handedly.

Why is Bart Simpson popular?

Bart has had his questionable moments, but aside from those, he has proven to be one of the best characters. He is known for a lot of great quotes, such as “Eat my shorts," “Ay caramba,” and ”Don’t have a cow man.”

Alongside the couch gags The Simpsons has in the introduction, there are also chalkboard gags led by Bart Simpson in the school, such as “I will not mock, Mrs. Dumbface” or “This punishment is not medieval.” He also does a lot of pranks and is said to be evil, which actually makes his character rather interesting.

Why is Homer Simpson popular?

Homer Simpson is one of the best characters in The Simpsons because he gets to do a lot of cool stuff like going to space, owning a snow plow business, and having a float at the Super Bowl halftime show. Another reason is he is the most quotable character in the show with lines, such as, “Mmmm fifty slices of processed cheese,” “Marge, you know it’s rude to talk when my mouth is full," "I wonder where Bart is, his dinner is getting all cold and eaten,” and of course his most famous quote: “D’oh!”

Why is Marge Simpson popular?

Marge is always trying new things like being a cop, a real estate agent, and a pretzel salesman. She also makes us laugh sometimes. One time she wanted Bart to take a potato to his school for "Show and Tell," and she explained, “I just think they’re neat.” She also has to raise one baby who doesn't really talk. One kid is always protesting, and one kid is always getting into trouble. You have to admit it must be hard for her.
