Nepal is a country in South Asia, sharing territorial boundaries with India and China. Nepal almost touches a part of Bhutan and Bangladesh. 


Religion

Nepal’s religion is mostly focused on Buddhism but some people in Nepal may also practice Hinduism. Hinduism is mainly practiced in many yoga or yoga as in meditation. Buddhism is more like going to worship at a temple or monasteries, but they can also meditate and pray there. For meals Buddhists usually skip the meat because of the first precept in Buddhism. When people die and they have practiced Hinduism it is believed you are reborn in a different body. When people die in Hinduism for people to mourn, sometimes they shave their head.


Language

People born in Nepal speak what is called Nepali. They may speak Arabic, or any other language close by if they weren’t born in Nepal. Maithili is the second most spoken language in Nepal. Nepal also might speak English as a second language instead of Maithili, Arabic, or Hindi.


Food

Nepal is known for its pizzas and soups. A lot of people say that Nepal’s food is extremely different from India’s food. From the spice to the meat they use in Nepal. Dal bhat tarkari achar is Nepal’s most famous food, it's a combination of rice, lentils, and vegetables. It’s so famous that it’s in every corner of Nepal! For meat Nepali eat chicken mostly but sometimes instead of chicken they might use mutton, but beef is never 

allowed in any meal.


Origin

Nepal’s language originated in Western Nepal, then spread across the rest of Nepal overtime. Nepal was originally called the Gorkha Kingdom but after the 2006 revolution Nepal became its own country without having to listen to India or China for rules.


About Their Flag

The red on Nepal’s flag represents their national color, it symbolizes how brave they are. The most mathematical flag in the world is Nepal’s national flag, it is the only flag that is non-quadrilateral. The two triangles represent the Himalaya mountains and the two major religions, Hinduism and Buddhism. The red triangular symbol has been a Hindu symbol of victory since the time of Ramayana and Mahabharata.
