Egypt is a country in the northwest corner of Africa. It borders Sudan, Libya, Israel, Jordan, and the Mediterranean Sea. The capital is Cairo.          




Culture

In Egyptian culture, greeting someone you see everyday is always expected, girls kiss cheeks and boys will shake hands or kiss cheeks. don’t really do punctuality but being late there isn’t considered rude. Egyptians are known to communicate indirectly and are generally not ok with expressing negative emotions to others.


Religion

Ancient Egyptians worshipped about 2,000 gods and goddesses. A lot of people might worship gods that other people haven’t heard of before, but for some it might be common, for  others not.


Food

For food, Egyptians mostly eat bread. They consume it almost every day with mainly lunch and dinner but sometimes breakfast. Their national dish is koshari, containing pasta, Egyptian fried rice, brown lentils, chickpeas, garlicky tomato sauce, garlic vinegar, crispy fried onions, and hot sauce. Egyptians have two main meals a day-: Breakfast and dinner. Even though they still eat lunch, it's small. Tea both black and herbal, is the most popular drink in Egypt. Egyptians drink tea with breakfast but sometimes with their lunch. For lunch they will have either bread, falafel, kofta, and other dishes. In Egypt they do have fruit and salads but want to be cautious to avoid any unwanted digestive issues. 


Flag

Egypt’s flag has three colors. It includes red, white, and black bands from the Arab Liberation Flag with a gold eagle in the middle. The eagle represents strength, pride, unity, and Egypt’s history. Egypt changed their flag to show Arab pride and to not remind them of the Ottoman empire who used to rule most of Europe.

Popular tourist attractions in Egypt include the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza, the Valley of the Kings, the Great Sphinxes of Giza, the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as Djeser-Djeseru, and more.



Does Egypt Have A Prime Minister Or President?

Egypt is led by a president. His name is Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil El-Sisi. He is a retired military officer and an Egyptian politician who has been serving since 2014. He is the sixth president of Egypt.


History Of Egypt

Humans settled in Ancient Egypt as far back as 6000 B.C.E. Eventually, the two kingdoms of North Egypt and South Egypt were created. Historians begin the history of Ancient Egypt when a pharaoh united these kingdoms into one country.
