The Black Eyed Susan Book Award is a children’s book award in Maryland. Named after the state flower of Maryland, ten books are nominated in each category. Julius West has multiple copies of all ten of the nominees for grades 6-9. If you read three of these books (all of which are fabulous, seeing as they were nominated for an award), you will be invited to the Black-Eyed Susan party, which has snacks, raffles, numerous crafts, and even prizes--if you read all ten. Stop by the library to check out one of this year’s nominees today!
