Imagineering is one of the many electives at JW. It involves making movies with classmates and friends, using Chromebooks, and working on fun projects.
Now you're probably wondering how we make these videos, right? We simply take pictures and videos on the camera app on our computers, then upload them to a website called “WeVideo.” Imagineering is taught and run by Ms. Kachnowski, who introduced us to this website. (See below for an interview with Ms. Kachnowski). “WeVideo” is a website where you can make videos with cool effects, music, sounds, and as I said before, your videos and pictures.

Interview with Ms. Kachnowski
What do you teach?
English and Imagineering Technology, what do you think I teach?
(She asked because we were in her 8th period.)
How long have you been teaching?
At JW, for 3 years, and I taught for 3 years before that in New York City, shoutout to The Bronx!
Where did you go to college?
Ohio State.
What motivates you?
Seeing students improve and gain confidence.
Do you like cats or dogs better?
I grew up with dogs, but my apartment only lets me have cats, so I’m kind of both. Fun fact, the 8th graders helped me name the cats I have currently.
Where were you born?
Sleepy Hollow, New York
If someone wrote a biography about you, what would it be titled?
You can never read too many books.
Who’s your favorite 8th-period student?
*laughs vigorously*
You all bring me joy and annoy me equally.
Are you happy at JWMS?
I love JWMS so much.
What is your favorite song?
“Us" by Gracie Abrams (feat. Taylor Swift)
Now I want to discuss some of our projects. These include an all-about-me video in which we shared what we like, a camera angles video in which we learned about the different types of camera angles and used that knowledge to create a short film about them, a PSA, an animation, and so much more.
